I just installed the product yesterday to try out before purchase for our Hospital. I get the following message when logging in: "The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again. GetuserID()" I hit ok to the message it take me into SVC. I think get the full menu bar for a split second and then everything goes away except for File, Configure and Help. I then get a not connected message in the header. I did not do anything to the tables. I loaded the auto installer with the updated Jet 4.0 etc. Can you help figure this out so I can start using the product to test version contol? |

Bryan Kerr, Sorry you are having trouble with your installation. There are a few questions we need answers to: What OS are you using? How did you attempt the login (user name)? What database are you attempting to use? Did you attempt to configure the database with the configure menu option? SVC 4.0 is available on the web at http://www.randem.com/svc.html |

I am using Win2K. I logged in with the default Admin. I never had a chance to configure security as that menu option went away. I was attempting to use the Access database SVC 3.2.0 - Jet 4.0.mdb. No I did not attempt to configure as I was not sure how. |

bryker, Please use version 4.0 as 3.2 is outdated. Then we can take it from there. |

brykerr, Cannot duplicate the error you get. Could you provide me with more info in order to help create this error? Is your Win2K system up-to-date with SP's and patches? Did you install the OS Updater? You obviously checked in files, could you give me an example or better yet the database you are using? Post it here and I will check to see if there is a problem with the database or your installation. Mahalo |

This is a new file. I added new project (Epic Rx Scripts), then went to Operations to check-in file, it immediately gives me the the run-time error. I tried old files as well. I will post for you. |

brykerr, I got no error on importing the file. What is your folder structure where the file resides? Is it a protected folder? I only get as far as hitting check-in, I never get a chance to even pick the file. As soon as I click on check-in, I get a run-time error, I click OK and it boots me out of SVC. The files are stored on my hard drive at this time and the folder is not protected. Should I just uninstall and then reinstall, maybe some pointers got out of whack some how? |

brykerr, this sounds more like a computer problem. Since this was working before, have you removed or added programs to your computer? Also look in the SVC.ini file and see what the parameter "GblImportDir" is set to. This could be the source of the problem. |

brykerr, This will solve that issue. It's seems you may have removed or changed a folder name that you were importing from and SVC is looking for it. Mahalo |

The SVC.ini was the problem. I changed the setting on the parameter GblImportDir and it works now. The only programs I added were the updated SVC.exe you posted above. So not sure if that did anything. Anyway, works good now. Thanks! |

The folder was available and the name had not been changed. The .ini orginally read: GblImportDir=d:\my documents\epic\tch\testing\timeline I changed to: GblImportDir=d:\my documents\epic\tch\testing It now works fine. |

brykerr, OK, so the folder "d:\my documents\epic\tch\testing\timeline" did not exist anymore? This is what SVC complained about. The new exe takes this into consideration. |

No the folder was still there, not sure why SVC did not like it. Once I removed the \timeline I was able to go into \testing and then to \timeline and checkin with no problem. |

When I check out a file from SVC it wipes out all the data that was in the file. I have attached one of the files that I checked in and then what it looked like when I checked it out. |

brykerr, Not sure of what you mean. Both these files are exactly the same. They both have data in the Excel worksheet. The only difference in the files is that one has an xls extention and the other one doesn't. Excel wont open the file properly wothout that extention. |

Well when I open the file in Excel the data is gone. The tab is marked correctly, but data is not there. I went back and deleted the file .xls with 0kb and then added the .xls extension to the file I sent you and was able to see the data. For some reason when I checkout the file it gives me a file with no extension that appears to have the data and the an Excel file with the same name, but 0kb. |

Aloha gajmp, You should have really started a new thread with this. Especially since this thread is about version 3.2.0 and you are using 4.0.9. You are not providing any information at all on what is happening, on what OS you are using, if you installed the AutoOSUpdater first, if your computer is up-to-date, if you have the minimum requirements fullfiled, are you an administrator... We would need some information to help you with this problem. |
