Of course the first thing that you want to do before running a scan is to update your software. Use the Update tab to get to the location where you can check for updates. Keep checking for updates until there are no more updates to be gained, then you may run the scan.

Running the scan is as simple as can be. There are only two selections, a quick scan and a full scan. A full scan should be run at least once a month and the quick scans can be run in between full scans. After the scan is complete tell MalwareBytes to remove the selected infections and you are good!

The free version of MalwareBytes does not allow to to scan your computer on a schedule. This can be overcome simply by creating a sceduled task in Task Scheduler using the following command line:

"C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" /runupdate /fullscanterminate
