f you purchased MalwareBytes from Randem Systems and we installed it; an automatic scan is set to run at 2:00am everyday, so all you need to do is to leave your computer on overnight one day and MalwareBytes will take update itself and run the scan.

If you have the free version; the first thing that you want to do before running a scan is to update your software. Use the Update tab to get to the location where you can check for updates. Keep checking for updates until there are no more updates to be downloaded, then you may run the scan.

MalwareByte's paid version will protect you from malicious websites when you visit them or even if another website redirects you to them or provides a link to the malicious website. This invaluable protection will keep malicious websites from being able to attack you.  Sometime when you visit a perfectly non-malicious website the ads on that website can be replaced with malicious content because the ad servers are under the control of a third party and can deliver anything they want in the place of the ad and may not care where the ad originates from because someone paid for the ad space.
